The popularity of CBD is growing. Every day, new customers turn to CBD hemp products. Some of them wonder if CBD Hemp Oil is legal in their location. In this article, we’ll talk about CBD in Turkey.

Turkey is known for having very harsh Cannabis laws, as well as unfavorable cultural attitudes towards Cannabis usage. While the government has made some allowances for Cannabis cultivation for medical use and scientific research it is still highly illegal.

The use of CBD and associated products can be somewhat confusing so let's answer a few basic questions about this topic.

IS IT LEGAL TO BUY CBD IN TURKEY ONLINE: YES

CBD oil itself is not expressly legal or illegal, but mixtures containing any traces of THC is considered illegal.

Hemp oil is quite common in Turkey and many vendors sell vials of Hemp Oil, passing them off as CBD Oil.

If one is in dire need of CBD and finds themselves in Turkey for a decent period, purchasing CBD oil out of Japan, which also has the same no THC law, maybe one only option as no local manufacturers exist in Turkey at this point.

IS IT LEGAL TO BUY CBD IN SPAIN OFFLINE: YES

CBD Oil can be found in some health food shops in the Capital and other major cities but it is not common. While they may be marked as 0% THC the likelihood of this being true is very low.

In many cases, the oil may be Hemp Oil which was simply labeled as CBD Oil.

IS IT LEGAL TO GROW HEMP FOR CBD IN TURKEY? YES

Turkey used to be quite an ambitious producer of Hemp and Hemp products until it banned most forms of the practice.

Recently, the country has made plans to restart production to revive the country's ailing economy. As of now, some 19 of the countries 81 provinces have allowances to grow Hemp. This is expected to expand, and licenses exist which will grant exceptions to those looking to grow Hemp outside of these 19 provinces.

In regards to growing Hemp for CBD Oil production; there is no clear law on the matter at this point. If one was to undertake such an enterprise, they would do well to remember that anything above 0% THC is illegal.

IS IT LEGAL IN TURKEY TO BUY PRODUCTS CONTAINING ABOVE 0.2% OF THC FOR MEDICAL USE: YES

Although Turkey has a strict stance on Cannabis use, in 2016 the government passed laws making allowances for medical THC products. While this is true, it is difficult to find doctors who will prescribe it. On top of this, there is much confusion even amongst healthcare professionals as to what products are legal and which ones are not.

IS IT LEGAL IN TURKEY TO BUY PRODUCTS CONTAINING ABOVE 0.2% OF THC FOR RECREATIONAL USE: NO

Although Turkey has modernized itself greatly over the last half-century the country still has a very stringent stance on recreational Cannabis use. Products containing more than 0.2% THC is illegal

Turkey is not the best place for those who want to enjoy CBD oil and other Cannabis products. Although the use of CBD oil may not be expressly illegal, availability is low.
